Student Participant Tracks
​
GENERAL LEADERSHIP TRACK (CORP Style and Mariachi)
​
The general leadership track is open to current or aspiring student leaders in a high school band program. This track prepares general field leaders, such as sectional leaders, drill instructions, etc. to serve as effective peer-based leaders for those they serve. This track includes a detailed focus on the principles of effective peer-based student leadership. Also, as part of this track, leaders will work with facilitators in the area of modern marching band movement.
DRUM MAJOR TRACK

The drum major track is open to current or aspiring drum majors in a high school band program. This track prepares drum majors in the effective art of field conducting, rehearsal coordination, and general leadership. Also, as part of this track, drum majors will work with facilitators in the areas of modern marching band movement, percussion leadership, and colorguard leadership.
PERCUSSION LEADERSHIP TRACK

The percussion leadership track is open to current or aspiring percussion leaders. This track includes percussion leaders, both battery* and front ensemble*, in the preparation to execute their roles effectively. Also, as part of this track, percussion leaders will work with facilitators in the areas of modern marching band movement and work to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the drum major or field conductor.
*Battery and/or field Percussion leaders are requested to bring their field instruments.
*Front ensemble leaders are requested to bring mallets as limited front ensemble equipment will be provided.
COLOR GUARD LEADERSHIP TRACK
​
The color guard leadership track is open to current student leaders in a high school color guard. This track prepares color guard leaders to serve as effective peer-based leaders. Also, as part of this track color guard leaders will work with facilitators in the areas of modern movement and how to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the drum major or field conductor.

Staff Development / CE Hours
This symposium features a staff development track with CE credit totaling a maximum of 16 hours.
